In Florida, serving insurance companies must follow specific procedures outlined by state law. All insurance companies authorized to do business in Florida are required to designate the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as their registered agent for service of process. This means that if you need to serve legal documents such as a summons and complaint or a subpoena to an insurance company, you must direct them to the CFO rather than the company itself.

Only initial legal documents, such as summons and complaints or subpoenas, are accepted through this method. The CFO’s office does not handle pre-suit notices, correspondence, or subsequent filings unless a court specifically orders otherwise. After the CFO receives the documents, they forward them to the insurance company, and the company’s response timeline begins when they receive the documents, not when the CFO is served.

We cover the cost upfront for you and will include it in your invoice for payment.
